The first call to your office by a
prospect is the most important because if the person
making your appointments doesn't know what to say or

In fact, she was a kindergarten teacher before I hired

But she follows a detailed process each time a

say so that prospects know that making an appointment is
the smartest decision they can make for their family.
This process includes an intake form that ensures she
doesn't forget to gather any of the critical details
we'll need, a tracking sheet to ensure she follows up
with each prospect appropriately and, here is a
BIG SECRET, a specific script she follows each
time to secure each and every appointment by
getting the prospect's credit card number!
Believe me, I know requesting a credit card is a
controversial strategy, and you're probably
thinking it would NEVER work in your office.

The design of the pre-meeting
package is critical to your success! This is not a place to skimp or be cheap.
Your prospects first view of you could be this package
and, if it's not just right, they will not be
predisposed to hiring you.
The package needs to be structured in such a way that
the prospect is compelled to complete the worksheet and
send it back to you. At first, I was NOT having
success getting the worksheet returned, but I
painstakingly made revision after revision until I
develop a package that ensures we get back the completed
worksheet nearly every time.
Secret #3: The Subliminal Office Design
There are 8 specific things we do IN our office that
psychologically prime our prospects to become clients.
While I can't go into all of the details of each of
the 8 things we do in our office, one of the key
elements is a scented candle we always have burning at
our reception desk. When prospects walk in,
they feel immediately relaxed, oftentimes asking when
the massage will start.
You don't need to have a candle, but
your office must have a
signature item that disarms your prospects and changes
their mindset. Your office MUST prime your
prospects to say YES. And the candle, plus
the 7 other subliminal things I do in our office do just
that.
Secret #4 : The Perfect
Icebreaker
You must have a script so you know exactly what to
say in the first 15 minutes of the meeting to uncover
your prospects' family background, history and most
important values.
Before I created my script, I would sometimes make
small talk for several minutes before even talking about
the reason the prospects were there to see me. All
this did was waste their time (and mine), but I didn't
know what else to do. I was nervous and didn't know what
to say, so I found myself chattering on without purpose.
No good.
Now, I start each meeting with a perfectly
scripted introduction of myself and the firm and, then,
use the perfect ice breaker to get them to open up about
themselves.
Within 15 minutes, they know exactly why they should
hire my firm, and I know the most critical foundational
information about my prospects that I need to help them
make the best planning decisions...all because of my
powerful script!
Secret #5: Lead Them Down
The Path To "Yes"
After you use the perfect icebreaker script, spend
the next 30 minutes walking the clients down a short
pathway that has only one natural answer and that's YES!
During these 30 minutes, I use a system to educate my
prospects about the law and the effect of the law on
their family. But, here's another secret

it's NOT enough just to tell your prospects what will
happen if they don't plan with you.
People buy based emotion and justify
their decision with logic.
You need to educate your prospect about why it's
logical
for them to plan AND ensure they FEEL how important
it is to plan ... and why they MUST plan with you.

ensures my prospects internalize what they've learned
and understand at an emotional level why they must not
leave my office without planning with me right away.
This is NOT something you are going to tell your
prospects. You are going to use a technique that

Own Fee
Quoting the fee can be one of the most stressful
parts of the initial consultation, IF you don't have a
system for doing it.
I spent a painful year experimenting with different
fee schedules and different fee quoting systems before
